Project

Our project is aimed at teaching Hope to 5th graders. It is based on research that hope is a teachable skill. We chose 5th graders as research suggests there is a significant rise of suicide attempts in 6th grade, so we want to touch the group with hope prior to that difficult year. (Journal of Adolescent Health via Family Matters, 2011)

We plan to test and expand the project to all age groups as time and resources allow. If you are interested in having your school involved in testing the 5th grade curriculum, or you want to be involved in developing it for other ages, please email us at hopefulminds@ifred.org.
